In a few weeks, something is going to happen to me that is going to change my life forever. I've known this for a while now..... I'll never be the same again. I'll never think the same and I'll never look the same. Oh I might act the same, on the outside, and answer, "fine" when asked how I am, but that is just a conditioned response anyway.
As you have guessed from the title of this blog, I am in the midst of a journey, a journey that I didn't choose to be on, but now I must finish. I will finish. I want to finish strong. If it is possible, I want to finish stronger at the end of this journey than I was at the beginning.
I decided to make this blog just as I was finalizing which surgical option was best for me. I'm sure this recollection is more for my benefit than anyone else's and in some way therapeutic. Since I am in the midst of this journey, I will go back to the beginning and try to recall things in a chronological order. That's easier for me. In literary terms, this kind of narrative would be called in medias res, Latin for "into the middle of things." (Just a bit of trivia, I googled.)
As I write this blog initially, I will have to catch up, so some of my posts will be written after the fact, a sort of flashback, if you will. I think I will date each post in the past as best as I remember until a time when I have caught up.
As I write the beginning of my story, I will also add links to the posts in the list on the right column under "My Journey-the beginning."
If you would like to be notified by e-mail when a new post is made, fill out the information in the left column under "Follow by Email."
Thanks to my husband Scott, family, and friends who have been there for me. I am sure that it is only by your prayers, love, and support that I have been able to get by thus far.
Love, Pam
